The Story

For centuries, pu-erh tea has been crafted in China's Yunnan Province, where large-leaf tea trees and traditional processing methods have given rise to one of the world's most fascinating tea styles. Some pu-erh teas are enjoyed while young and vibrant, while others are carefully stored and allowed to mature over many years, developing increasing depth and complexity with time.

Our collection is sourced through a trusted friend and respected tea master in Taiwan, whose years of experience in selecting, storing, and appreciating pu-erh have shaped this ever-changing offering. Many of the teas available to us are mature or vintage selections, including examples that may date back several decades.

Rather than recreating the same assortment every time, we embrace the nature of small-batch tea. As individual teas become unavailable, new discoveries take their place. Each Discovery Collection is assembled with balance and intention, offering an opportunity to experience different expressions of pu-erh while reflecting the unique teas currently available.

Each Discovery Collection contains:

Three individually packaged pu-erh teas

15 g of each tea (45 g total)

Approximately three traditional gongfu brewing sessions per tea, or several Western-style cups

Selections may include raw (sheng), ripe (shou), loose leaf, or compressed teas, depending on our current inventory.

Because many of our teas are available only in limited quantities, the exact assortment will vary from one collection to another.
Every collection is different, but you may encounter flavours such as honey, camphor, forest floor, toasted grain, dark cocoa, spice, or mineral sweetness.

Rich, layered, and continually evolving. Many pu-erh teas reveal new aromas and flavours with each infusion, inviting you to slow down and pay attention.
Each tea in your collection may respond a little differently, but this is an excellent place to begin.

Use 5 g of tea per 100–150 mL of water.

Heat fresh water to 95–100°C (203–212°F).

If desired, give the leaves a quick rinse before brewing.

Steep the first infusion for 15–30 seconds.

Increase the steeping time slightly with each infusion.

Most pu-erh teas can be enjoyed through many infusions, with each steep revealing new dimensions of the tea.

Approach each sample with fresh eyes.

Notice how the dry leaves look and smell before water touches them. Watch the colour of the liquor deepen. Pay attention to how the tea changes from the first infusion to the last.

Will I receive the exact teas shown in the photos?

Not necessarily. The photographs represent the style and quality of teas you can expect, but each Discovery Collection is assembled from our current inventory. Every collection is unique.

Are the teas vintage?

Many of the teas available through our tea master are mature or vintage selections, and your collection may include teas that have been carefully aged for decades. Rather than guaranteeing a specific production year, we focus on selecting teas that offer a memorable tasting experience.

Why don't you list the exact age or factory of each tea?

Many of our pu-erh teas come from a long-established private collection where detailed production records are not always available. Rather than speculate, we choose to share only information we can confidently stand behind. Our focus is on authenticity, quality, and the experience each tea offers in the cup.

Is this collection suitable for someone new to pu-erh?

Absolutely. The Discovery Collection was created as an approachable introduction, offering a range of styles and flavour profiles while encouraging exploration rather than expertise.
