Tea Was Always There
Tea has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.
Growing up in a Chinese family, tea wasn't treated as something special. It was simply part of everyday life. A kettle was always nearby. A pot of tea often sat on the table. It accompanied conversations, meals, celebrations, quiet afternoons, and ordinary moments that, at the time, didn't seem remarkable.
As I grew older, I found myself drawn back to tea—not out of habit, but curiosity.
That curiosity led me into the world of traditional herbal medicine, where I discovered that plants have long been valued not only for their flavour, but for the relationships people have cultivated with them across generations. I spent years reading traditional materia medica, learning about herbs from Chinese and Ayurvedic traditions, experimenting with blends, and discovering how different cultures have turned simple cups of tea into moments of care, reflection, and presence.
Along the way, one tea quietly became my companion: pu-erh. Its depth, patience, and ability to evolve over time became a reminder that some things reveal themselves slowly. Brewing tea stopped being just a drink and became a small daily ritual—a chance to slow down and reconnect before returning to the pace of everyday life.
Sip Ritual was born from that journey.

More Than Tea
Sip Ritual isn't about chasing wellness trends or promising quick transformations.
It's about rediscovering something wonderfully simple.
A warm cup held in your hands.
The aroma that rises before the first sip.
The quiet pause between one task and the next.
Every tea we offer is chosen because it has a story worth sharing. Some have been enjoyed for centuries. Others celebrate a particular place, season, or tradition. Alongside every tea, we explore the cultural history, traditional herbal perspective, flavour, and practical brewing guidance so that each cup becomes an opportunity to learn as well as enjoy.
We believe ritual doesn't have to be elaborate. It can be as simple as taking five uninterrupted minutes for yourself, paying attention to the present moment, and allowing a familiar practice to become something meaningful again.
Whether you're discovering loose-leaf tea for the first time or have spent years exploring its many traditions, Sip Ritual is an invitation to approach tea with curiosity, intention, and appreciation.
A Cup Shared
Tea has always brought people together.
Across cultures and generations, it has marked celebrations, welcomed guests, comforted difficult days, accompanied meaningful conversations, and offered quiet companionship when words weren't needed.
My hope is that Sip Ritual becomes a place where those traditions continue in a modern, approachable way.
Whether you're brewing a calming cup before bed, beginning your morning with intention, exploring herbs for the first time, or simply enjoying the beauty of loose-leaf tea, you're part of a much longer story—one that has unfolded around kettles, teapots, and shared tables for thousands of years.
Thank you for allowing Sip Ritual to be a small part of your own daily rhythm.
May every cup invite you to slow down, notice the present moment, and discover the quiet wisdom that has always been waiting inside a simple sip.
